Downtown Gift Cards: A Good Indicator of Downtown Commerce
The Downtown Gift Card Program supports just over 200 Downtown businesses, and the Missoula Downtown Association (MDA) sold $527,115 in Downtown Gift Cards in 2022. Businesses enrolled in the program redeemed $452,749 in Gift Cards in 2022, an increase of 10% from the previous year. The Downtown Gift Card program is the only multi-merchant program in Missoula.
Downtown Gift Cards make great gifts for teachers, coaches, co-workers, employees, friends and family members.
Since 2010, the Missoula Downtown Association has sold $3.93 million dollars in Downtown Gift Cards. Sales have increased from $141,240 in 2010 to $527,115 in 2022, an increase of 74% over a 12-year period.
“The Downtown Gift Card Program is one of our greatest benefits of MDA membership,” said Bob Burns, President of the MDA Board of Directors and Market President at Stockman Bank.
“This program has kept millions of dollars circulating in our local economy, and it’s a great way to support our neighbors and friends.”
Just over 200 MDA members accept Downtown Gift Cards, and the redemption rates for the last two years have jumped dramatically. Businesses that redeemed more than $10,000 in Downtown Gift Card sales in 2022 include The Good Food Store, Runner’s Edge, Hide & Sole, Rockin’ Rudy’s, 1889 Missoula, Tamarack Public House, Trailhead, Grizzly Liquor, The Depot, and Saketome Sushi.
