Dr. James McKay Appointed to Downtown BID Board
With a passion for supporting a vibrant and healthy Downtown community, Dr. James McKay has been appointed to the Downtown Business Improvement District Board of Trustees as a representative from Zone 2. McKay replaces Kirk Bodlovic, who recently completed a four-year term on the board.
Dr. McKay serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula and the Providence Medical Group. Prior to his appointment at St. Pat’s, he worked at Missoula Radiology for nearly 18 years.
He earned his M.D. from Dartmouth College and holds a B.A. from UC Santa Barbara. Prior to medical school, he worked as a Smokejumper for the U.S. Forest Service here in Missoula.
Providence St. Pat’s Hospital has been a significant contributor to the Downtown BID and employs nearly 1,400 individuals in Missoula.
The Downtown BID serves to promote the health, safety, prosperity, security and general welfare of Downtown Missoula and serves as a special benefit of the properties within the district. The BID focuses on common-area maintenance and management, including garbage removal, graffiti removal, alley plowing, district cleaning services and policing services, as well as business retention and success. The Downtown BID is funded by property assessments from within the BID boundary.
Created in 2005, the Downtown BID is one of the three organizations under the umbrella of the Downtown Missoula Partnership. The Missoula Downtown Association and the Missoula Downtown Foundation are the other partner organizations focused on leading and nurturing a vibrant Downtown Missoula as a place where people are inspired to live, work, shop and play.
