Secrets of the Clark Fork River Walking Tour Highlighting the Natural and Cultural History of the Clark Fork River

Visitors participate in a guided walk that explores the often overlooked features and untold stories associated with Missoula’s riverfront. Group leaders will offer meaningful interpretations that present opportunities for participants to make personal connections to natural and cultural resources. The tour highlights ways that community-driven conservation and stewardship preserve our natural and cultural resources.

This tour is offered June-August in proud partnership with the Montana Natural History Center!

A long-time Missoula resident, Ser Anderson is a Teaching Naturalist with the Montana Natural History Center, using their passion for birds, plants and Montana natural history to inspire others to learn more about their place of residence.

Elena Ulev is a Certified Montana Master Naturalist, Interpretive Guide and naturalist with the Montana Natural History Center. With a degree in Wildlife Biology, Elena spent a decade working for the Forest Service as a wildlife, botany, and hydrology technician and technical science writer.

Christine Morris is the Community Programs Coordinator at the Montana Natural History Center where she teaches the Master Naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide Courses. She has worked as a naturalist and instructor for over 15 years, spending time as a science curriculum writer, Park Ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park and guide along the Missouri river.

Leif Fredrickson teaches history at the University of Montana. He's a member of the Historic Preservation Commission and the Friends of the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula. With some other Montanans, he created the podcast Death in the West. When he's not being a history nerd, he's being a plant nerd.
