First Interstate Bank Skyview Suite

History

Missoula’s Festival of Trees has been a holiday tradition since 1999 under the direction of Mountain Home Montana and Laura Snyder.  The Festival serves as a fundraiser and a community-wide holiday celebration.

The Festival was gifted to the Missoula Downtown Association in 2017.  The MDA and Festival Committee will build, expand and sustain the event as a festive holiday experience for all in the heart of Downtown Missoula.

2017 Vision

Missoula’s Festival of Trees has a new home, new brand, new mission statement and new theme for 2017.  The continuing tradition of the festival will remain an inclusive community celebration of holiday traditions.

About

The Missoula Festival of Trees has multiple components.  Items created by individuals, groups and designers  (trees, wreaths, garlands, etc.) will be used to transform the Skyview Suite of the First Interstate Bank Building into an “Enchanted Forest” where all events will be held.  The event features two types of tree design and several events, as detailed below:

Designer Trees for Live Auction (3) – Local designers purchase, design and decorate 7 foot trees to be showcased and auctioned during the Holiday Soiree’. These three trees also include prize and/or product packages donated by local businesses or individuals, valued at a minimum of $1,500.

These items will also be displayed as part of the “Enchanted Forest”.  The public will have an opportunity to purchase chances to win these items during the Tour of Trees.  Items in this category are varied and generally very creative – including decorated 3 foot trees, wreaths, garlands, décor, artwork, furniture…and more.  There is no entry fee for participants, and all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.

Performing Art – Community groups will be invited to perform during the Tour of Trees.

Proceeds from Missoula’s 2017 Festival of Trees will benefit three organizations:  Missoula Downtown Foundation, Mountain Home Montana and Missoula Downtown Association.

Missoula’s Festival of Trees will be held in the Skyview Suite at First Interstate Bank in downtown Missoula on November 30 – December 3 this year.  The Missoula Downtown Association, the festival’s new owner, is seeking donations of artificial trees in varying heights (3ft, 5ft, 7ft) to help transform the space into an “enchanted forest”.   Donated trees must include stands and can be pre-lit or not lit.

Trees can be dropped off at 218 E. Main, in the parking lot adjacent to the Missoula Downtown Association and Trail West Bank on the following dates and times:  Tuesday and Thursday October 3 and 5 Noon-5pm and Saturday, October 7th from 10am to Noon.

Proceeds from this year’s Festival of Trees will benefit the Missoula Downtown Association, the Mountain Home Montana and the Missoula Downtown Foundation.  For more information, call the MDA office at 543-4238.
