Downtown Missoula Maintenance & Clean Team Business Improvement District

The Business Improvement District of Downtown Missoula takes pride in funding initiatives that keep the Downtown district clean year-round. Two teams that are critical in leading these efforts are the Downtown Missoula Maintenance Team and the Clean Team. Learn more about these teams below.

Downtown Maintenance Team

What Is the Downtown Maintenance Team?

The Downtown Missoula Partnership provides maintenance services via the Downtown Maintenance team that helps ensure Missoula’s city center is clean and safe. The maintenance team does this work, recognizing that an active and vibrant Downtown needs common-area services above and beyond that which is available through general municipal services.

What Services Does the Downtown Maintenance Team Provide?

The Downtown Maintenance crew provides the following services seven days a week:

  • Removal of garbage and recycling from more than 100 cans throughout the district
  • Provide snow removal services in the alleys to ensure the delivery of goods throughout the year
  • Remove snow from the cycle tracks on North Higgins to keep them open year-round
  • Provide contracted snow removal services for privately owned parking lots in Downtown
  • Provide contracted hot water power-washing services for sidewalks and buildings April-Oct
  • Provide contracted graffiti removal services April-Oct
  • Help maintain Downtown Missoula’s street décor, including holiday décor, flower baskets, and banners.

For more information or to schedule an estimate for services, contact Maintenance Manager Ray Kroenke via phone (406-207-6926).

Downtown Missoula Clean Team

What Is the Downtown Clean Team?

The Clean Team is a contracted service for Downtown Missoula, provided by Opportunity Resources, Inc. The Clean Team is comprised of five to six adults with developmental disabilities plus a supervisor. The Clean Team is one of Missoula’s most appreciated programs, as its employees can serve in a capacity and space where the public can truly appreciate their tangible contributions.

The Clean Team provides services including picking up garbage, pulling weeds, and maintaining tree wells and grates throughout Downtown. The Downtown Clean Team was the first program created to help clean up Missoula’s city center in 2006 and is funded by Downtown property owners. For more information on the Downtown Clean Team, contact the Downtown Missoula Partnership office at (406-543-4238) or email ([email protected]).
