The Missoula Downtown Association and Kettlehouse Brewing Co. are hosting the 4th Annual Winter BrewFest on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 5-10 pm at Caras Park. This festival will showcase a selection 42 beers, 10 wines, live music, and food vendors.

Thirty-one of the 42 beers to be served at this weekend’s Winter BrewFest are brewed in the state of Montana, and 11 of those 31 beers will come from Missoula-area breweries. Fifteen Montana breweries will have their beverages served at the unique outdoor event.

Highlighting the list of beers to be served are a solid-bodied Winter Spiced Double Haul from Kettlehouse, All Souls Imperial Saison from Big Sky, Back Draught Smoked Lager from Draught Works, Galaxy Pale Ale from Flathead Lake Brewing, Citra IPA from Bitterroot Brewery and Open Pit Porter from Quarry Brewing in Uptown Butte.

“Recent improvements to the Caras Park Pavilion make it possible for the community to come together for off-season events like Winter BrewFest,” said Ellen Buchanan, chair of the Winter BrewFest planning committee. “Winter BrewFest is proof that Missoulians will take the opportunity to enjoy good beer and entertainment together, no matter the season.”

Admission is $12 per person and includes one 7-ounce commemorative glass and two beer tokens. Additional tokens are $1 each. Entertainment will be provided by The Idle Ranch Hands from 5-7:30 pm and Cash for Junkers 8-10 pm. Food will be available from El Cazador, Burns Street Bistro, and Lil’ Orbits.

Folks attending must be 21 or older and will be required to show identification at the entrance located on the west side of the Caras Park Pavilion near the Carousel. Parking is free downtown on evenings and weekends, and attendees are encouraged to use alternative forms of transportation. Mountain Line bus service runs until 8pm, and the University of Montana UDASH shuttle runs 15-minute service into the night for those staying until 10pm.
