MDF Celebrates Completion of Madison Perrins’ ‘Alive With the Land’ Mural

MISSOULA DOWNTOWN FOUNDATION CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF

MADISON PERRINS’ Alive With the Land MURAL

The Missoula Downtown Foundation (MDF) will celebrate the completion of Madison Perrins’ Alive with the Land mural on Worden’s Market at 451 N Higgins Ave, Friday, August 1, at 4 pm. The media and public are invited to meet and learn from muralist Madison Perrins, who spent the month of June bringing to life Missoula’s newest mural.

Madison Perrins is an experienced Montana artist with notable works across the state. Her new addition to the Heart of Missoula includes a mountain landscape and starry night sky drifting up from a wine bottle held high by a Greek-inspired Maenad; a female follower of Dionysus, the Greek God of wine and wine making. The depiction is viewed as a homage to the world-class wine selection within Worden’s Market, where Missoulians can find the perfect wine for dinner parties, gifts, or to simply broaden their home wine cellar.

“Alive with the Land brings a brilliant splash of color to one of Missoula’s most iconic businesses,” said Rob Fleming, Board President for the Foundation and Branch Manager for Synergy One Lending. “Our Board and staff would like to thank Madison for bringing her art to life and thank business owner, Matt Muhsam, and property owner, Tim France, for their investments and partnership on the mural.”

The Foundation’s Arts & Culture Impact Grants program funded two murals this summer and supported the Missoula Art Museum’s (MAM) Teen Art Project, totaling a combined investment of over $16,000 toward the Arts in Downtown Missoula. The second project is Abby French’s mural What Makes Montana on the Wren Hotel building. With the completion of these two murals, the Missoula Downtown Foundation has now funded six mural projects in Downtown Missoula and supported the MAM Teen Art Project for the fifth year in a row.

Funded by the Missoula Downtown Foundation, the Arts & Culture Impact Grants program creates the opportunity to pair artists and building owners together and provide funding to create meaningful artwork that helps the public connect to this special place, the Heart of Missoula. The grant cycle for 2026 projects will open on January 1 and can be found online at https://www.missouladowntown.com/missoula-downtown-foundation/grants.
