SUMMARY:Unseen Missoula: Hotels & Hooligans
DESCRIPTION:The Hotels and Hooligans tour explores Missoula’s daily life during the city’s railroad boom\, as well as some of the everyday culture of people living here. The Courthouse and Missoula’s railroad hotel district will also be explored for their scandals and seediness. \nThe tour will start at 4:30 pm at the statue of Captain John Mullan at the northeast corner of Alder and Higgins\, by the XXXX’s. Arrive a few minutes early so the tour can begin promptly at 4:30 pm. Come prepared with walking shoes\, a bottle of water\, and clothing for the weather on this 90-minute tour that covers approximately a mile on foot. \nCOVID-19 Precautions:  \nYour safety is our priority. We are committed to continuously monitoring Missoula County’s COVID-19 Community Level and will respond according to the CDC’s list of individual and community recommendations for each level. At all levels\, people can choose to wear a mask according to their personal preference and level of risk. People who show symptoms \, who test positive for COVID-19\, or who have been exposed to the virus should reschedule their tour.

SUMMARY:MDA March Member Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:The Missoula Redevelopment Agency (MRA) completed a feasibility study in 2015\, reviewing what it would take to convert Front Street and Main Street from one-way streets back to two-way traffic operations in downtown Missoula. The Front and Main Street Two-Way Conversion and Kiwanis Neighborhood Access and Circulation Design project is a continuation of this feasibility study and will develop a plan for two well-traveled Missoula streets and the Kiwanis Park neighborhood. \nMembers of the project team will present the status of this study\, potential design options\, and current challenges. Attendees will have an opportunity to provide input and ask questions.   \nThis presentation is being recorded by Missoula Community Access Television as part of a Media Assistance Grant donated to my organization by MCAT. \nThe Luncheon will be aired on MCAT Channel 189 and downloaded to MCAT’s Video on Demand and MDA website at a later date. \nThe Luncheon will take place in the Cooper Board room B on level 4 at the new Missoula Public Library. The loss of community festivals\, membership events and Caras Park rentals meant the MDA lost more than 50% of its annual funding that brings life and vibrancy to the Heart of Missoula in 2020. \nThe MDA and the Missoula PaddleHeads will once again partner together to offer Swing for Downtown\, a Top Golf extravaganza fundraiser at Ogren Park Allegiance Field on Friday\, October 1\, 2021 from 9am – 7pm. \nSwing for Downtown will feature nine holes on the concourse of Ogren Park Allegiance Field. Each hole will feature a different community event or unique aspect of downtown for our community to experience! Have a beer at Downtown ToNight\, take a tour of Unseen Missoula\, and then take a tour of the Festival of Trees all while playing a fun nine holes of golf! This event is for amateurs and pros alike. After your round\, stay and mingle on at the party deck with food and drinks! \nCost: $300 per team (5 players per team) \nRegistration includes a swag bag\, one complimentary adult beverage\, and a meal.  Additional food and beverages will be available for sale\, and there will be additional games\, raffles and entertainment throughout the day\, so folks are encouraged to bring cash\, as well as their clubs. \nA few notes! \n\nWe are asking participants to not bring outside food or beverage into the stadium as there will be food and beverages available for purchase.\nFolks can bring their whole set of golf clubs (for ease of carrying)\, but only pitching wedges and a putter are all that is needed for the golf outing. DESCRIPTION:Experience Downtown’s greatest community events in two hours! COVID-19 had a significant impact on the Downtown Missoula community and the Missoula Downtown Association (MDA). The loss of community festivals\, membership events and Caras Park rentals meant the MDA lost more than 50% of its annual funding that brings life and vibrancy to the Heart of Missoula in 2020. \nThe MDA and the Missoula PaddleHeads will once again partner together to offer Swing for Downtown\, a Top Golf extravaganza fundraiser at Ogren Park Allegiance Field on Friday\, October 1\, 2021 from 9am – 7pm. \nSwing for Downtown will feature nine holes on the concourse of Ogren Park Allegiance Field. Each hole will feature a different community event or unique aspect of downtown for our community to experience! Have a beer at Downtown ToNight\, take a tour of Unseen Missoula\, and then take a tour of the Festival of Trees all while playing a fun nine holes of golf! This event is for amateurs and pros alike. After your round\, stay and mingle on at the party deck with food and drinks! \nCost: $300 per team (5 players per team) \nRegistration includes a swag bag\, one complimentary adult beverage\, and a meal.  Additional food and beverages will be available for sale\, and there will be additional games\, raffles and entertainment throughout the day\, so folks are encouraged to bring cash\, as well as their clubs. \nA few notes! \n\nWe are asking participants to not bring outside food or beverage into the stadium as there will be food and beverages available for purchase.\nFolks can bring their whole set of golf clubs (for ease of carrying)\, but only pitching wedges and a putter are all that is needed for the golf outing. The longest distance is at most 130 yards.\nGates will open at 8:30am\nWe recommend teams arrive at least 20 minutes before their flight time to check in and make their way to their starting holes\nSpectators welcome – $10.00 to come watch and hang out!\n\n \nRoemer’s Point-S\, Sun Mountain Sports\, and Stewart Title

Scandals and other sketchiness from the Courthouse to the seedy underbelly of Missoula’s railroad hotel district will also be revealed! \nThis tour will meet at the statue of Captain John Mullan on the northeast corner of the intersection of Alder and Higgins by the XXXXs. Please arrive a few minutes before so the tour can begin promptly at 4:30pm. The tour will last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and will be cover about a mile on foot. Please come prepared with walking shoes\, a bottle of water and clothing for the weather. \nCOVID-19 Precautions: \n\nMasks will be required. The tour will meet at Caras Park and you will receive more details after purchasing tickets. \nSilkworm sings it best\, Into the garden city I’m on the rise… \nThis tour is a part of the 15th Annual River City Roots Fest in Downtown Missoula on August 27-28.
