US Freestyle Kayaking Championships
The United States Freestyle Kayaking Championships will be held Wednesday and Thursday, June 30-July 1 from 8am until 8 pm and Friday, July 2 from 8 am until 3 pm on Brennan’s Wave on the Clark Fork of the Columbia River in the heart of Downtown Missoula, Montana. The event will be held in the State of Montana for the first time ever, thanks to the efforts of competitive athletes Kevin Brown, Karl Moser and the U.S.A. Freestyle Kayak Association.
The three-day kayaking competition will welcome 150-200 athletes competing for points on Brennan’s Wave with the goal of representing the United States National Team scheduled to compete at the World Freestyle Kayaking Championships in Platting, Germany in 2011. Athletes will travel from throughout the United States to Missoula for the open competition that will serve as the final event in a six-event national series. The U.S. Team will be announced at the end of the three-day championships. Athletes will have 45 seconds each to conduct as many different technical moves as possible.
