An active Downtown means business for you. The MDA plans year-round events to promote customer traffic in the Downtown area to help generate business for you.



The MDA sponsors and brings the following annual events to Downtown:
  • Out to Lunch and Downtown ToNight in Caras Park, the International Wildlife Film Festival, First Night Missoula, the Downtown Holiday Stroll and Santa’s Arrival, Germanfest, Hempfest, Hellgate Rendezvous Art Fair, Kidsfest, BRIW Fest, Montana Festival of the Book, YMCA River Bank Run and YWCA Taste of Missoula.

The MDA serves as a political advocate and lobbyist for issues that affect you. The MDA will serve as your advocate to protect your interest as a business owner.

  • Members of the MDA have continual access to a network of local leaders and business people devoted to the constant improvement of Downtown.
  • You can take an active role in shaping the future of the Downtown through leadership opportunities in committee and Board involvement.

As a member of the Association, you will be able to meet community leaders and promote your business through social and networking opportunities at monthly MDA events.

  • Showcase your business by hosting monthly social events such as Coffee Talk, Downtown on Tap and the monthly Membership Luncheon.

  • MDA businesses support one another. The membership database will provide you with the names, phone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses of all MDA members.

  • Essentially every local media company belongs to the MDA and offers members discounted advertising and special packages to promote Downtown.
  • The MDA continually receives inquiries about local business and serves as a referral service for its members.
  • The MDA promotes and sells Downtown Gift Certificates to generate business for its members. Member businesses accept Gift Certificates, which are reimbursed by the MDA.
  • MDA members have the opportunity to promote their business through inserts in the Downtown Dialog.
