Missoula— Run Wild Missoula’s newest 5K, the Tread of the Undead Zombie 5K, on Sunday, October 27 at 1 p.m. at the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula will test your zombie apocalypse survival skills. This untimed, fun 5K will take place on an all-terrain course with zombie hordes treading throughout the course. “Runners” will wear flag football belts with flags. “Zombies” will try to pull these flags and infect the “runners.”

Register online as a “zombie” or a “runner” by going to www.runwildmissoula.org. Cost is $25 for RWM members and $30 for non-members. Online registration will close at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 26. Registration will be available at the Big Sky High School gym on race day, Sunday, October 27 from 10 – 12:30 p.m. There will be no “zombie” registration on race day.
“Runners” and “zombies” will get Tread of the Undead Zombie 5K t-shirts. “Runners” will also get a button at the end of the race indicating whether or not they are a survivor or infected zombie. “Zombies” are encouraged to dress in costume and makeup. Makeup will also be provided in the Big Sky High School gymnasium, provided by the Big Sky High School Drama Department, on race day from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. All participants will also get race refreshments and the option to have their photographs taken in the photo booth provided.
A performance by “Thriller” by the Downtown Dance Collective will kick off the event just before 1 p.m. at the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula.
Participants should pick up their packets at Big Sky High School in the gymnasium from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on race day and park in the Big Sky High School parking lot and walk or run to the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula. There is no parking at the race start.
