Pear Jam Raffle Winner Announced!

Native Missoulian Jeff Vawter is the winner of the Pearl Jam Concert Package, announced today by the Missoula Downtown Association.

Created by Roots Festival Chair Ellen Buchanan as a way to generate interest and support for Roots, the prize package contained two floor tickets to the September 30 Pearl Jam Concert at the UM Adams Center, a two-bed suite courtesy of Missoula’s StayBridge Suites, and a $50 Downtown Gift Card, donated by the Missoula Downtown Association.

Raffle tickets for the package, valued at $330, were sold for $10 each at a variety of downtown businesses and locations, including Roots Fest, the Allegiant Air “Vote for Vacation” party in Caras Park, the MSO Hub, the Trail Head, Kettlehouse Northside, and Philly West.

A Missoula resident and Downtown employee for 20 years, Jeff Vawter lives on Easy Street, just a mile east of Downtown, and works as a surgical technologist in the emergency department at Providence St. Patrick Hospital.

“I am a big music fan and have been a Robert Randolph fan for a long, long time,” said Vawter. “I attended Roots Fest on both Saturday and Sunday and thought it was really a fabulous show!

“I love my community, and I love what the Missoula Downtown Association does,” Vawter explained. “That new stage in Caras Park has really grown on me, and I attend a lot of events in Caras Park. We’re lucky to have such a great Downtown.”
