Independence Day Out to Lunch – Something Special for All!
The Missoula Downtown Association will host a special Independence Day Out to Lunch in Caras Park this Wednesday, July 4 from 11am-2pm with country music extraordinaire Shodown on stage and a beer and wine garden provided by the Badlander.
“This is the first time we have ever had the opportunity to offer beer and wine at Out to Lunch,” said Heidi Starrett, committee chairman for Out to Lunch. “With it being a middle-of-the-week holiday, we wanted to make it special for those who won’t be leaving town for the 4th.”
SpectrUM Science Learning Center will provide children’s activities, thanks to Missoula Pediatric Dentistry, and there are 26 different food and beverage vendors to provide a variety of food choices for lunch. This week’s Spotlight Sponsors are Garlington, Lohn and Robinson and Payne Financial Group.
Because it is a holiday, Mountain Line will not be providing the Out to Lunch shuttle or other transit services on Wednesday. However, all parking throughout downtown is free all day Wednesday because of the holiday. That means all meters, lease lots, and garages are open to the public Wednesday. It’s a FREE Parking Day in Downtown Missoula!
Out to Lunch is a great way to kick off our community’s celebration of Independence Day, and everyone is invited.
“It’s exciting to have such a large, vibrant community event happening in the heart of Missoula on a very special holiday,” Starrett said. “Out to Lunch offers great music, food and fun for children, and this week we’ll include a beer and wine garden which is always popular at our other summer series, Downtown Tonight. The 4th of July Out To Lunch should prove to be a fun time for all!”
In its 27th season of existence, Out to Lunch in Caras Park is held every Wednesday through August. The program draws between 3,000 and 4,000 attendees each week and is the longest-standing outdoor food and music festival in the State of Montana.
